2004 LS1 with 23,000 miles. The heads were removed and
resealed and installed new head bolts.
Installed new roller rockers, Weiand intake manifold,
harmonic balancer, motor mounts, water pump, plugs wires, and sensors. ECU was
reflashed to the same program as David Bordens car.
TRANSAXLE
G50-20 Porsche transaxle with LSD. The unit was
disassembled, inspected and resealed by Pro Technics in Houston. They did some
light machining on the shift rails to allow for better engagement. (these guys
are racers and they did some tweaks).
All new clutch components were installed. (Porsche turbo
pressure plate, disc, release bearing, release fork and shaft). New Porsche CV
joints were purchased.
UPGRADES TO THE CAR

I am sure I missed something.
WHAT STAGE IS THE GTM AT
My intension was to totally assemble the car w/o paint and
drive the car to make sure everything was 100% before proceeding to paint and
body work.( I am almost there). The body, hood and rear hatch are installed and
positioned to allow the car to be functional. The body, I believe is centered
and mounted correctly as per instruction found here on the forum. The rear hatch
has a polycarbonate w/s installed and is functional however this piece is a
template that was to be used to have a “final piece” cut to the most accurate
size. I was using another company for this. If a person does not like the p/c
then I have the original glass that came with the kit and it can be used with no
problem. The doors need to be installed on the car including the latches,
windows and hardware.
The car is mostly mechanically finished. The ride height
has been set but the alignment needs to be completed. All
components have been tested for leaks, torque and functionally (see below
list). The electrical system is complete except for the items
listed below.
All the aluminum has been drilled and 90% installed.
The electrical complete except for the items listed below.
ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED OR COMPLETED
The electrical harness for rear lighting needs to be
secured.
The wiring for the front lighting needs to be routed and
connected. The harness is there and operational and just a matter of
connectors being installed.
The fuel gage does not read correctly. There has been
chatter on the forum about this. My thought is that it needs to have a
complete new gage.
The ECU will need to be reflashed to defeat some of the
emission codes before it will pass state testing.
The belt tensioner needs a brace as talked about here on
the forum. When the A/C cycles the belt will chirp. This is because of the
flex in the FF supplied bracket.
The flashers need to be reprogrammed. ( not a major deal
but I squared will need to help with this)
The doors need to be installed as mention above.
The wiring is ran and tested for the doors. There is
power for the windows and also a lock/unlock trigger for power locks or for a
release solenoid for use with shaved door handle.
The front windshield and wiper system need to be
installed. The wiring is in place and tested.
The dash needs to be installed. I have started this but
not complete yet. The holes have been cut in the dash for the radio, a/c
controls and switches.
The instrumentation is all complete but needs to be
attached to the dash.
The interior has been sealed and “fat mat” has been
installed in all places except the driver foot area. The Lotus Elite seats are
installed. An access panel needs to be made for the right side a/c-electrical
panel area.
All close out panels need to be installed and a 2-3
panels on the underside.(these have been drilled and fitted). All the hood
opening, hatch opening and vent screens also need to be installed.
All the final paint and body work still needs to be
completed. As I mentioned before my intention was to complete the car w/o
paint too make sure it was a 100% before proceeding. My feeling is that a body
shop can at least see what they have to work with if the car is complete when
you take it to them. As you know removing the body and pieces are relative
easy if needed. I have left the body mostly untouched so I did not do
something that a B/S would have to reverse.
All documentation and tech files ect will be provided. I
will support the buyer in the build process to the best of my capabilities.
I feel that I have done my best to represent my GTM. If you
